spring styling

I enjoy this view in any season, on my way home from the gym. I've been waiting
for the blossoms to come, and they finally have, but ever so slowly. Spring is in full bloom here
because of our warm February. But it has progressed slowly because it's cold again.
Looking outside at the beauty all around one would never guess it was below freezing this morning.
It seems so, so cold--maybe because we're ready for it to be warmer, or maybe it's all the wind.
Inside it's another story.
When my DIL told me there is a newish business where
someone comes in and "styles" your shelves, book cases and china cupboards (etc),
I took a look at mine . . . a little busy, tired-looking and yes, overcrowded.
It sounded like a fun job.
So I decided to do a little restyling of my own china cabinet.
I'm not sure I changed the world with my work,
but it sure was fun and gave me a mental boost.
I think I might enjoy being a "stylist."

  2. Dotsie, your re-styled cabinet looks just right with your lovely pieces. I agree, when I rearrange a cabinet or a bookcase or a room, it does my soul good. It's so much fun to change the scenery in our homes.
The beautiful flowering trees are a boost to the soul as well. Your's are stunning against the gorgeous blue sky. ♥

  3. Hi Dotsie,

Do you feel like you've been transported back up north somehow? :D You're so right -- it does seem cold, and the wind is a big part of it. This has been such a long winter for our area; I'm just so ready for spring and warmth. I must remember this when I start complaining of the heat in July. ;)

I love your pretty corner cupboard! Everything shows up so well against the white, too. I love all your pretty dishes, especially the blue and white as you probably already know. You know how you're always telling me we have the same things in our homes? Well, that little brass lamp -- is it a pineapple base? Because if so, I have one just like it. My mom gave it to me years ago, and it's always been a favorite. Mine has a green, punched paper shade, but sadly the shade got damaged some years ago.

I think I would love styling bookcases, shelves, china cabinets, etc. Hmmm...I wonder if anyone needs those services around here. ;D Have a good weekend, Dotsie!

    Hugs,

    Denise

  6. And, a wonderful stylist you would be! I hardly ever change things once I FINALLY get them like I like them. Ha! Except for a few seasonal things. I love all your china pieces, Dotsie. They suit you so well. Beautiful, classic, timeless. blessings and hugs ~ tanna

  7. I love changing things up...almost makes it seem like everything is brand new, doesn't it? Love the new arrangement. I am so jealous of those trees...it still looks a lot like winter around here. :(

  9. You certainly could be a stylist! Your shelves and dishes look beautiful. A coolish spring to make the blossoms last sounds like a tempting deal. I can not believe how far south this chilly weather goes.
