buttons and more

 Buttons fascinate me too.
 We're into "reading" books aloud.
Especially small sized books, like these by
Beatrice Potter.
These did not turn out quite as pretty as the recipe,
but I'm just so pleased I made them and took them to a dinner gathering,
even with the spastic icing.
There was a time when I would have practiced first.
"Baby it's cold outside" and I'm loving
a taste of winter.
And the tulips.
All photos have been "altered."

  3. I am ready for some tulips in my kitchen! Every year at about this time, I start longing for color and flowers and cheer, and a bright bouquet or pot of tulips is just the thing.

Your little granddaughter is darling! (I love her dress and her bright red shoes!) I remember my girls loving to play with buttons, sorting them, organizing them, pretending with them. Buttons are great fun!

  6. What fun playtime with the buttons. I see that you have been most accommodating with all the vessels for sorting. Altered? I think that they are beautifully edited with an attention to detail.

  7. What a darling photo of the little button sorter. The tulips are so cheering. I need to pick some up when I'm in town next (and carry them home in a heavily insulated bag!)

  9. It is very cold here, too--25 degrees! Your heart-shaped goodies look tasty to me. I'm sure those who got to eat them didn't care whether they looked picture perfect or not! Sorting pretty buttons looks like a fun activity. I'll store this one away for the future when Olivia's no longer putting things in her mouth.

  10. Every time I see this little one, Dotsie, I just want to squeeze her. :-D She's adorable. Such pretty pictures you've shared with us; I think the dessert hearts look yummy. I, too, am enjoying this cold snap. It doesn't stay cold so long here, and when the sun is shining, the cold doesn't really bother me. It makes me thankful to have a warm house to live in. :)

Hope you have a great weekend and a Happy Valentine's Day!

    Hugs,

    Denise

  11. What a fun activity to sort buttons into little bowls! Nothing like a vase of spring flowers to cheer you up when it's cold outside!
    Stay warm.

  12. What a fun thing for a little one to do! I remember as a little one begging my mom to let me get out her drawer of buttons. I am sure those sweet treats were just delicious too! Nothing like flowers (especially tulips) to add a touch of spring. We are to get snow on Monday & Tuesday...how about you?

  17. Podso,
I loved playing with the buttons in my Grandmother's button box!
It was an old "tin" one that looked much like the vintage :biscuit" boxes.
    Your dessert looks YuMMy!
I enjoyed pink tulips from a dear friend, this week, too!
    Happy Valentine's Day!
    Fondly,
    Pat
