Rubies: Gathering the Moments

The month of rubies flew by.  I know July's birthstone is a ruby because it's my birth month.
But I didn't realize it's the most valuable gem, and represents love, health and wisdom.
Hmmm . . .
July flew by, as all months seem to do. Since we were on three continents this month
(though that's debatable since Istanbul is in both Asia and Europe),
we spent some time recovering from jet lag.
Highlights included: our last day in Istanbul and then a few days in Munich;
grateful to be back in the USA for Independence Day; witnessing Little One's first
tubing experience; a rather unique book club with the author at a peach stand;
a quick day at the beach; all the while enjoying exceptionally gorgeous crepe myrtles;
a craft day with Little One, and loving our garden produce.
And grateful for it all.

Now I wish August could/might/would be slower!
Connecting to Mosaic Monday for the last time   Thank you Mary.

  2. Oh, you did have many memorable moments in July! No wonder it flew by in a whirlwind! But you're right...all months seem to fly by.
    A month spent on three continents. That is certainly one for the records! But just as memorable are the milestones of children and those moments shared. Your crepe myrtles are gorgeous! I love that you can see them from your window...what a glorious view!

    Thank you for sharing your special "moments" of the month of rubies!

  6. I think myself a traveler if I've been in three *states*, but three continents really is traveling!
    I could just take a bit out of that pizza in your picture. Your crepe myrtle is beautiful. They are a favorite of mine. Your ruby month was as precious as the gem :-)

  7. July flew by for us - I think a 10 day vacation in the middle made it go fast.

    We have no trips planned until November so I want to savor the beautiful weather we are having and just relax.

  10. Oh yes, between Ireland, catching up in my gardens and then a week away with family I can't believe it's August already. When I get home tomorrow, it will be catch up time again, but I hope to savour this month a little slower.
    My trip was the first to experience jet lag and now I know what everyone is talking about!

  13. You certainly had a buy July! And a happy belated birthday to you as well!!! I am sitting here wondering where July went this morning, as I welcome August. The heat is here and will stay until October. I am dreaming of Fall, and fires in the fireplace!

  14. You had a whirlwind month - exciting though!
    What are those blue things in the top left photo Dotsie?
    Love the tubing pic - I can almost hear the squeals of joy from here!
    Book club meeting in a peach stand sounds fun.
    Your window frames the crepe myrtle beautifully and I love the concentration on your grandies face, how lovely to teach her new things.
    And not forgetting...belatedly "Wishing you a very Happy Birthday" dear Dotsie.... were the rubies forthcoming???
    Hugs

  17. Many treasured gems for you in the month of rubies! That ruby red color is a favorite of mine. You certainly did a lot of traveling and I've enjoyed some of your posts about it that I have managed to read so far. And now, it's on to the month of peridots with their wonderful shade of green and my own birth month. Blessings to you and yours this month - I hope you enjoy your Southern summer and have many more treasured moments as the days slide by.
